Sand Art Course
Let stories flow through fine sand and light
Sand art is a visual art form that combines fine sand with light and shadow. On an illuminated sand table, the artist uses fingertips and the palm to push, layer, and brush the sand, allowing images to take shape naturally through movement and transitions—expressing delicate imagery and emotion. Our sand art course focuses on present-moment attention and relaxation. Whether or not you have an art background, you can follow step by step to complete practice exercises and small creations in class, and enjoy the calm and restorative experience that sand art brings.

Q&A
1. Do I need strong fine-motor (hand) skills to do sand art?
No. The way you create can be adjusted to suit each participant’s ability. You can use your fingers for broader expressions, or simple tools for finer details. The requirements for hand control are flexible, so people of different ages and ability levels can take part and enjoy sand art.
2. Will sand art be messy?
Our classes use dedicated fine sand and are conducted within the sand table’s working area. In general, it does not cause noticeable mess or heavy spillage. As long as participants avoid vigorous movements or scattering the sand during creation, sand art remains a safe and clean art activity.
3. Can sand art pieces be kept?
One of the unique features of sand art is “create in the moment, present in the moment.” The artwork naturally changes as you continue creating, so it is not typically preserved as a final physical piece. If needed, we can arrange photo-taking, filming, or live projection during class for recording and keepsakes.
4. Can I rent the light box and sand?
Yes. We provide equipment rental. In most cases, the venue only needs to provide basic tables and chairs, and a stable power supply (socket) for the session to run smoothly. If a school/organisation requires extended use (e.g., multiple workshops or an on-site showcase), we can also assist with purchasing the equipment on your behalf.
5. Can the sand art class be delivered at schools or organisations?
Yes. We offer flexible off-site delivery to schools and organisations. Whether you are booking as an individual, a school, or a corporate group, our instructor can teach at your designated venue. Please note that remote locations (e.g., Aberdeen and the Outlying Islands) may incur an additional travel surcharge—please contact us for details.
6. How do I sign up for the Sand Art classes?
Please WhatsApp or call 3725 7060 to make a reservation or request a quote. When inquiring, please specify the course name (e.g., School Sand Art Class, Adult Sand Art Class, Senior Sand Art Class, or One-ff Sanf Art Workshop) along with your preferred time and the number of participants.
